I was going through a tough moment, really needing to Trust God through something exceedingly difficult. It was through prayer that God allowed me to recognize that fear and worry were stealing your peace. When you have lost your peace, it's hard to focus on the promises of God.
Many of us fall into the same trap, when believing God for something hard. I was leaning on my own understanding instead of trusting God fully. But I was reminded that strength starts with honesty before God.
Prayer and the Word of God need to be our Anchors. Anchors in God helps us to remain in God.
Prayer opens your heart so you can hand over the weight of fear.
Scripture reminds you of who God is and what He has already done. Each verse becomes a sword against fear, just like Jesus used the Word in the wilderness.
Every time you remember God’s past faithfulness, it builds a “faith memory.” These reminders strengthen your mind and spirit, like a shield against the next wave of worry.
God’s Exchange, is He gives you Love for your Fear.
That exchange is what transforms weakness into strength.
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear” (1 John 4:18).
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7).
Walking Forward in Strength
Being mentally and spiritually strong doesn’t mean you’ll never feel fear again. It means you now know where to run with it. Every moment of worry can become an opportunity to practice trust. Over time, your mind grows steady, and your spirit grows bold.
To be mentally strong, is to recognize the things that has taken your focus off of God, and the promises of God's word. You must now take those worries and fears and commit them unto the Lord.
When you open your heart to God, it leaves room to grow through the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is meant to lead you and guide you through all truth. John 14:26. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you.
When we learn to submit our focus to God, it keeps us mentally strong.
When the Holy Spirit leads us, we keep Christ first, it keeps us spiritually strong.
Blessings,
MHB
